Brendan Hughes is chair of Cooley's global trademark, copyright and advertising practice group. He regularly counsels clients about the risks associated with using and attempting to register proposed marks, as well as the prosecution of trademark applications and maintenance of registrations. In addition, Brendan represents clients in connection with trademark, copyright and false advertising-related actions in federal court, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Susan Christoff is special counsel at Cooley LLP. She focuses on client counseling, licensing, due diligence analyses and litigation in the fields of trademark and copyright law. Specifically, she advises clients on the selection, clearance, adoption and use of trademarks, domestic and international trademark prosecution and enforcement, trademark portfolio management and the development of comprehensive branding strategies.
