Course Description:
Experienced estate planning attorney Richard Louis will cover what artists need to know about estate planning in Washington D.C. First, Richard will explain what happens if you pass away without an estate plan. Next, Richard will discuss the difference between a will and a trust and why you might prefer one over the other. Richard will also explain what are financial and medical powers of attorney and why you might want a living will. If you are a parent, Richard will explain how to designate a guardian so your children will have someone take care of them if you pass away. How to protect your artwork after you pass away will also be covered.
Richard Louis is an experienced art lawyer and estate planner in Washington, D.C. He has written estate plans for many different people at various stages in life with a range of assets. Richard has also lectured on estate planning at various retirement homes, senior villages, a post at the American Legion, and a church.
