Brendan Hughes is chair of Cooley's global trademark, copyright and advertising practice group. He regularly counsels clients about the risks associated with using and attempting to register proposed marks, as well as the prosecution of trademark applications and maintenance of registrations. In addition, Brendan represents clients in connection with trademark, copyright and false advertising-related actions in federal court, as well as trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the US Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.
Jessica Williams is an associate at Cooley where she works with emerging and established entities to protect their intellectual property. In addition to her work in federal trademark litigation, advising on trademark clearance and prosecution, and protecting marks against infringement, she maintains an extensive pro bono practice.
