Frame the Lawyers 2019 Opening Reception

Event Summary

Washington Area Lawyers for the Arts and the Program on Information Justice and Intellectual Property, American University, Washington College of Law, join forces to present Frame the Lawyers 2019, a juried exhibition of artwork created by 18 Washington area attorneys and law students.

The walls of the Terrace Level of the Yuma Building will be filled with art of a variety of media. Frame the Lawyers 2019 is a unique exhibition not to be missed!

Selected works by the following attorney/artists will be featured in the exhibit: Kibian Adams Greene, Ken Bachman, Katherine Becker, Amanda Cuevas, Yousra Elkhalifa, Eric Fingerhut, Janet Fries, Lory Ivey Alexander, Maryna Koberidze, Barbara Kraft, Sara Leibman, Debra Perkins, Amanda Pearlstein, Phyllis Ruffer, Amy Sabrin, John Stiner, Nick Sullivan, and Peter Sprung.

The opening reception of will be from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2019, in observance of World Intellectual Property Day. The show will run thru June 2, 2019.

Live music, food and drink, silent auctions, and raffles add to the excitement of the opening reception.

Located at 4300 Nebraska Avenue, NW, American University, Washington College of Law offers paid parking and easy access from the Tenleytown/AU Metro Station. We recommend one of the following travel options:

  • By Metro –Take the Red Line to Tenleytown/AU Metro Station. At the top of the first escalator bear right to take the next escalator to the street level. This will bring you to Wisconsin Avenue next to Best Buy entrance. Turn right and walk down Wisconsin Avenue, cross Albemarle Street, and walk one block to Tenley Circle. At the circle, (St. Ann’s Church on your right) take a right onto Yuma Street and the law school will on your left.
  • By Car In accordance with the university’s Good Neighbor Parking Policy, visitors to the law school may not park in residential streets surrounding the campus including at parking meters. Parking: Admissions provides in the RSVP confirmation email an access code for a complimentary parking pass from the kiosk machines located in the garage elevator lobby. If you misplace the code or don’t RSVP in advance, you can also purchase a parking pass for $2.00/hour at the kiosk. Any car without a pass could be ticketed.

    Enter the law school garage at 4300 Nebraska Ave. NW. In the garage take an immediate left turn down the ramp to level P2.

  • By Uber/Taxi – Please instruct the driver to drop you across from 4001 Yuma St. NW. This will bring you by the Capital Atrium entrance, then follow directions above regarding Enter the building marked Capital Atrium.
