This workshop serves as a basic guide!

Course Description: The role of the Board of Directors in a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization is often misunderstood. This program will give you an overview of what is expected and required of a nonprofit organization’s leadership to help you avoid the most common legal mistakes related to nonprofit governance.

In this program, we will cover the basics of the fiduciary duties of Board members, the role of officers, committees, and employees, personal liability exposure and protections, navigating conflicts of interest and core tax exemption requirements, Board meeting best practices, and more.

PLEASE NOTE: This workshop is intended mainly for people with established nonprofits rather than people in the early stages of the nonprofit formation process, but all are welcome.
