• Session #6: Tuesday, May 5, 2026 ~ Estate Planning for Creative Entrepreneurs

Presentation and Q & A with:
Richard Louis, Esq.

Course Description:

Experienced estate planning attorney Richard Louis will cover what artists need to know about estate planning in Washington, D.C. First, Richard will explain what happens if you pass away without an estate plan. Next, Richard will discuss the difference between a will and a trust and why you might prefer one over the other.

Richard will also explain what financial and medical powers of attorney are and why you might want a living will. If you are a parent, Richard will explain how to designate a guardian so your children will have someone to take care of them if you pass away. How to protect your artwork after you pass away will also be covered.
